Energy yield of respiration on chloroaromatic compounds in Desulfitobacterium dehalogenans

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Desulfitobacterium dehalogenans's batch cultures grown on different electron donors. The amount of energy conserved via the halorespiration by these cultures has been determined, and the results of the growth yields obtained from the batch cultures have been compared.

Obligate sulfide-dependent degradation of methoxylated aromatic compounds and formation of methanethiol and dimethyl sulfide by a freshwater sediment isolate, Parasporobacterium paucivorans gen. nov., sp. nov

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the methanethiol and dimethyl sulfide, volatile organic sulfur compounds in freshwater sediments. The effect of the methoxylated aromatic compounds on the volatile organic sulfur compound production in these sediments has been investigated, and the results indicate that O methylathion of the methoxylated aromatic compounds is sulfide dependent.

Psysiological characterization of Pseudomonas putida DOT-T1E tolerance to p-hydroxybenzoate

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the isolated toluene-tolerant strain Pseudomonas putida DOT-T1E. Results indicate that it can grow on high p-hydroxybenzoate concentrations.
