RFLP analysis of chlorimuron ethyl sensitivity in soybean

Article Abstract:

Two genetic loci controlling the chlorimuron ethyl sensitivity (CS) have been identified in the soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr., using a restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis. The F(sub 2) population from of PI 97100 X Coker 237 cross is used to construct a RFLP map, which includes 162 marker loci with an average distance of 10.7 cM and spans of about 1600 cM. A major locus is located on USDA linkage group E, which is 2.8 cM from cr168-1 toward cr274-1. The linkage group of the minor locus is unknown. The major locus accounts for 88% and the minor for 11% of the CS variations.

Pod dehiscence of soybean: identification of quantitative trait loci

Article Abstract:

Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) was done to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) responsible for resistance to soybean pod dehiscence (PD). The analysis of a linkage map of 140 RFLP markers in the Young population of 120 F4-derived lines revealed that PD is highly heritable and is conditioned by one major and a few minor QTL. It was also found that resistant parents can contribute alleles for susceptibility to PD to their progenies.
