Reconstructing genetic ancestry blocks in admixed individuals

Article Abstract:

The problem of inferring ancestry along the chromosomes in an admixed individual and thereby delineating the ancestry blocks is considered. The accuracy of the inferred ancestry as well as the importance of modeling the background linkage disequilibrium (LD) is illustrated using simulations, and not accounting for background LD between markers, which may mislead to false inferences about mixed ancestry in an indigenous population.

Improving power in contrasting linkage-disequilibrium patterns between cases and controls

Article Abstract:

A new test is described which is developed in a regression framework to improve the linkage-disequilibrium (LD) contrast test by taking into account the background LD. This test is very flexible and can be extended to continuous traits and incorporate covariates.

Estimating Local Ancestry in adMixed Populations

Article Abstract:

Local Ancestry in adMixed Populations (LAMP) is a new approach employed for detecting the local ancestry of individuals at every single-nucleotide polymorphism. LAMP is found to be highly efficient and accurate, as compared to the other methods.
