Replacement clutches by Kentish Plovers

Article Abstract:

Research into factors influencing renesting rates among Kentish Plovers at Fuente de Piedra Lake, Spain, in the period 1991 to 1996 indicates that these birds move substantial distances to initiate replacement clutches. Distances moved between nesting attempts were found to be similar for previously successful birds and for unsuccessful ones. Predation rates of Kentish Plover nests were found to increase seasonally, as did partial clutch losses.

Yale University lecturer in Political Science James R. Van de Velde is suspected of murdering a student. Although he has never been officially charged, Van de Velde's life has been turned upside down by the suspicion. He has no job, has lost many friends, and is running out of money. Van de Velde's psychological state of mind is evaluated.
