S phase activation of the histone H2B promoter by OCA-S, a coactivator complex that contains GAPDH as a key component

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Oct-1 coactivator OCA-S which is important for histone H2B transcription. The authors have investigated the functional identification and purification of OCA-S activity, and they report that the characterization of this cofactor has identified the role for the p38 subunit which is identical to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, and that p38 mediates S phase-inducible H2B promoter activation.

Nontranscriptional regulation of SYK by the coactivator OCA-B is required at multiple stages of B cell development

Article Abstract:

A study is presented to show that OCA-B also functions in the pre-B1-to-pre-B2 cell transition and most surprisingly, that it directly interacts with SYK. Combined with the deregulation of OCA-B target genes, this may explain the multitude of defects observed in B cell development and immune response of Oca-b mice.

Regulated release of L13a from the 60S ribosomal subunit as a mechanism of transcript-specific translation control

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on human ribosomal protein L13a. The authors describe the development of the model in which this protein functions both as protein synthesis machine and as a regulatory protein depot.
