Spatial variation in foraging of the black-throated green warbler along the shoreline of northern Lake Huron

Article Abstract:

The influence of Lake Huron on the foraging of the black-throated green warblers, Dendroica virens, in its shores is investigated by monitoring the spatial variation in foraging behavior during the breeding season and migratory periods. Spatial differences in prey availability were the primary determinant of foraging behavior in D. virens. On the other hand, prey availability is affected by microclimatic changes in Lake Huron.

Sociality and foraging behavior of the Cerulean Warbler in Venezuelan shade-coffee plantations

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning ways in which the migrant Cerulean Warblers use shade-coffee plantations for feeding are discussed. Particular attention is given to flock sizes and behavior of visiting migrants and the possibility for the plantations to provide winter habitat.
