TOR regulates ribosomal protein gene expression via PKA and the forkhead transcription factor FHL1

Article Abstract:

Cell growth control resting heavily on the regulation of ribosome biogenesis ion accordance with environmental conditions and ribosomal protein genes are controlled by nutrient-sensitive, conserved target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling pathway. Studies were conducted to know more about how TOR regulates this gene expression via PKA as well as the forkhead transcription factor FHL1.

TOR, a central controller of cell growth

Article Abstract:

This review examines cell growth in the light of recent knowledge that, elaborate mechanisms are involved in active cell growth in response to favorable conditions. Research reveals that target of rapamycin (TOR) kinase controls the pathways and readouts that determine cell growth. The TORs bear homology to catalytic site of phosphatidylinositol 3- and 4-kinases.

TOR signaling in growth and metabolism

Article Abstract:

The role of mammalian target of rapamycin (TOR) complexes is discussed. TOR is the central controller of cell growth and also influences memory and aging in adults and may be useful in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular disease, autoimmunity, and metabolic disorders.
