Targeting of TAK1 by the NF-kappaB protein relish regulates the JNK-mediated immune response in Drosophila

Article Abstract:

The Drosophila NF- kappa B protein relish plays an important role in limiting the duration of JNK activation and output in response to gram-negative infections. Degradation of TAK1 leads to a rapid termination of JNK signaling, resulting in a transient JNK-dependent response that preceeds the sustained induction of Relish-dependent innate immune loci.

The novel SAM domain protein Aveugle is required for Raf activation in the Drosophila EGF receptor-signaling pathway

Article Abstract:

A mutation in a novel gene is identified, based on its requirement for normal photoreceptor differentiation. It is shown that avegule is required between ras and raf for receptor epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling in the eye and for nitrogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation in cell culture.

A novel motif governs APC-dependent degradation of Drosophila ORC1 in vivo

Article Abstract:

The novel sequence of an origin recognition complex protein 1 destruction box (O-box) is discussed. The O-box is essential for the direction of Fzr/Cdh1-dependent polyubiquitylation in vitro and degradation in vivo.
