The Ti plasmid of Agrobacterium tumefaciens harbors an attM-paralogous gene, aiiB, also encoding N-acyl homoserine lactonase activity

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Agrobacterium tumefaciens C58 genome containing N-acyl homoserine lacton hydrolases. Results demonstrate that after being expressed in Escherichia coli two N-acyl homoserine lactone hydrolases confer the ability to degrade N-acyl homoserine lactone hydrolases on the host.

Transposon-like organization of the plasmid-borne organophosphate degradation (opd) gene cluster found in Flavobacterium sp

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on bacterial strains which use organophosphate pesticides as a carbon source. The authors report that the strains of these bacteria isolated from different geographical regions have a gene linked to opd plasmids which is involved in p-nitrophenol degradation.
