Microbial community changes in biological phosphate-removal systems on altering sludge phosphorus content

Article Abstract:

Microbial community changes in biological phosphate-removal systems and their effects in altering sludge phosphorus content are discussed. Biomarkers and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) of PCR-amplified 165 rRNA genes have been used to characterize the microbial community structure of lab-scale enhanced biological phosphate-removal (EBPR) systems in response to altering sludge phosphorus content. Phylogenetic analysis was used.

The adnA transcriptional factor affects persistence and spread of Pseudomonas fluorescens under natural field conditions

Article Abstract:

The transcription factor AdnA of Pseudomonas fluorescens allows the organism to spread and survive in soil. This is important because this organism is considered to be beneficial in treating plant diseases, decontaminating soil, and improving plant nutrition.
