The small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) is required for gonadal and uterine-vulval morphogenesis in Caenorhabditis elegans

Article Abstract:

The major role small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) during the development of the Caenorhabditis elegans reproductive system that alters the subcellular distribution and function of its substrates is studied. The reproductive system as the major SUMO target during postembryonic development and highlight LIN-11 as a physiological substrate whose sumolyation is associated with the formation of a functional vulval-uterine connection.

Signaling to NF- (kappa)B

Article Abstract:

An overview of the established NF- (kappa)B signaling pathways with focus on the current state of research into the mechanisms that regulate IKK activation and NF-(kappa) B transcriptional activity is presented. One of the themes emerging is that IKK activation occurs through oligomerization, either of the IKK complex itself or upstream scaffolds.
