The transcriptional activity of nf-kb is regulated by the ikb-associated pka subunit through a cyclic amp-dependent mechanism

Article Abstract:

The effects of IkB-associated PKAc subunit via cyclic AMP-independent mechanism on the transcriptional activity of NF-kB were analyzed using rabbit lung cytosols. Direct regulation of PKA phosphorylation on the transcriptional activity of NF-kB was demonstrated by using truncated form of protein 65 at serine 276. The autonomy of PKA activity from cyclic AMP mechanism was demonstrated by using LPS-stimulated cells.

ATP hydrolysis-dependent disassembly of the 26S proteasome is part of the catalytic cycle

Article Abstract:

ATP hydrolysis triggers rapid dissociation of the 19S regulatory particles from immunopurified 26S complexes in a manner coincident with release of the bulk of proteasome-interacting proteins. This mechanism leads to quantitative disassembly of the 19S into subcomplexes and free Rpn10, the polyubiquitin binding subunit.

JHDM2A, A JmjC-containing H3K9 demethylase, facilitates transcription activation by androgen receptor

Article Abstract:

A JmjC domain-containing protein, JHDM2A, which specifically demethylates mono- and dimethyl-H3K9, is purified. This helps to identify a histone dimethylase and links its function to hormone-dependent transcriptional activation.
