Three slow myosin heavy chains sequentially expressed in developing mammalian skeletal muscle

Article Abstract:

Researchers used a group of monoclonal antibodies that recognize several epitopes on myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoforms and that exhibit a remarkable divergence in forms of expression during mammalian formation to reveal that a minimum of three isoforms of slow twitch myosin heavy chain are present in human and rat skeletal muscle. They also demonstrated that the emergence of expression of three slow MyHC isoforms is arbitrarily different during initial gestation.

MyoD, Myf5, and the calcineurin pathway activate the developmental myosin heavy chain genes

Article Abstract:

The regulatory factors, like calcineurin, which promote activation of developmental myosin heavy chain gene expressions during myogenesis, in mouse embryos, are analyzed.
