Use of DNA and peptide nucleic acid molecular beacons for detection and quantification of rRNA in solution and in whole cells

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on rRNA. The authors describe the application of DNA and peptide nucleic acid molecular beacons for detection and quantification of rRNA in whole cells and in solution, and demonstate the use of peptide nucleic acid molecular beacons in quantitative FISH for rRNA degradation investigation.

Protocol for rapid fluorescence in situ hybridization of bacteria in cryosections of microarthropods

Article Abstract:

Research has ben conducted on bacteria which inhibits microarthropods. The authors describe the protocol developed to detect these bacteria via the use of small-subunit rRNA-targeted fluorescence in situ hybridization and microscopy.
