Weak acid adaptation: the stress response that confers yeasts with resistance to organic acid food preservatives

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the food spoilage yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Zygosachcaromyces hailii. The summary of the current knowledge of the weak acid resistance mechanisms in both organisms is presented in this review.

Adherence of Burkholderia cepacia to respiratory tract epithelial cells and inhibition with dextrans

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Burkholderia cepacia adhered to the cells of the respiratory tract of the cystic fibrosis patents. Results indicate that B. cepacia has adhered to respiratory cells both in vivo and in vitro.

Interaction of Salmonella serotypes with porcine macrophages in vitro does not correlate with virulence

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Salmonella serotype and macrophage interactions. The characterization of these interactions with respect to virulence and serotype-host specificity has been carried out.
