Working with canine chromosomes: current recommendations for karyotype description

Article Abstract:

Interest in characterizing karyotypes has progressed significantly over the years. Several studies have been carried out on karyotype description. However, complications have surrounded the studies resulting from the difficulties of characterizing karyotypes. In addition, the lack of recommendations on utilizing a nomenclature for describing chromosomal aberrations in the canine karyotype have hindered characterization developments.

Chromosome Rearrangements in Canine Fibrosarcomas

Article Abstract:

Two fibrosarcomas from Labrador retriever females are used to demonstrate abnormalities in chromosomes 11 and 30; evidence supports the role of TGFBR1 for one of the tumors.
