A Keynesian View of the Budget Deficit

Article Abstract:

An ease in monetary policy will bring about economic recovery. A tighter fiscal policy will bring lower interest rates, thus promoting growth and stability. This policy mix will lower the budget deficit and contribute to capital formation. A complete outlook on the economy shows the statistics regarding inflation, interest rates, unemployment, and the gross national product (GNP). The need for recovery expands internationally. Announcing this plan for recovery would further the plan along and contribute to its success.

Fiscal scorekeeping the Washington way

Article Abstract:

Past deceptive deficit-cutting programs were based on mandatory spending, in which programs set their own spending levels, and the idea that reductions in projected spending equals savings.
