A Systematic Small Group Approach to Creativity and Innovation: A Case Study

Article Abstract:

A study of problem solving techniques in a multinational firm is examined. Many objectives were set forth to make the innovation cycle of research more productive. An agenda was developed, however, different projects would use the agenda in different ways. The problem solving techniques used in the study are analyzed. Tables and figures graphically show frequencies and success ratios of techniques. There are six stages in the innovation process which can be used in order or applied individually according to the needs of the problem.

Information asymmetries and technological innovation in large engineering construction projects

Article Abstract:

Research on technological innovation reveals that product introduction efforts are adversely affected by information asymmetries between buyers and suppliers. The problem, when applied to engineering construction projects, can be solved through the joint efforts of prime contractors, owners, equipment suppliers and consultants. Asymmetries can also be addressed by monitoring the decision-making process and using internal capabilities to identify solutions.
