Article Abstract:

A progress was noted on the use of empirical research methods in the field of operations management (OM). The number of OM-based articles that have utilized empirical research methods has increased significantly from 1986 to 1995. Surveys are the most commonly used research design in OM empirical research. Combined use of case study and survey research design were also noted on articles dealing with OM empirical research.
