ABRA 2000

Article Abstract:

ABRA 2000 is a human resource information system (HRIS) developed by ABRA Cadabra Software Inc. The HRIS, which automates and incorporates employee records with computerized payroll systems, has 6,000-plus installations and is usually used for Macintosh personal computers or those that are DOS compatible. The software features menu-bar prompts, on-line help and pop-up windows used to choose user-defined codes, employees and other information. Its nine screens include Main Employee Screen, Job Screen, History Screen, Benefit Screen, Dependent Screen, Skills Screen, Events Screen, Wellness Screen and Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Workers Compensation Screens. Retail price for ABRA 2000 ranges from $595 to $1,295 depending on the number of employees.

Solomon III: top-of-the line

Article Abstract:

TLB Inc's Solomon III computer program, version 5.0, has many excellent features for accountants. The system is designed using a database concept which allows all modules to access the same data. The setup and learning the system is well organized and simple. Data records receive and identification tags so they can be located later. The system has complete modules for payroll, fixed assets, inventory, costing, sales analysis, and purchasing. The system also has report-writing capabilities with simplified features that allow the user to decide what will appear in the report.

Crystal Accounting for Windows

Article Abstract:

Peachtree Software Inc's Crystal Accounting is a Windows-based accounting software package that offers several advantages over other accounting systems. Aside from being able to use Windows' graphical user interface, Crystal Accounting has error-checking features, options to print or display reports, separate calendar and fiscal years, and is able to enter manual checks. It is easy to install and has a straightforward maintenance menu. Crystal Accounting is a program for IBM-compatibles. The retail price is $249 for single users and network versions alike.
