AIDS: advances cited at meeting

Article Abstract:

AIDS researchers attending a conference from Jan 28-Feb 1, 1996, disclosed the results of several new studies. One study of 26 patients found that a combination of the drugs indinavir, AZT and 3TC significantly lowered HIV levels. A more accurate predictive test was also described.

Article Abstract:

An advisory panel headed by Arnold J Levine issued a report on Mar 13, 1996, that calls improved focus and coordination of the National Institutes of Health's Office of AIDS Research. It also urged more participation from outside scientist and community activists.
