TAXPREP is a new tax applications program which includes cover sheets, schedules, deductions, financial statements, and more. Tax and accounting terminology is used. COMPACT is a broader accounting package that operates on a minimum of seventy-five computer systems and is adaptable to meet various requirements.

Lanier has a whole line of dictating equipment designed to improve efficiency in offices. The Messenger can record and transcribe simultaneously for two hours. The system can support multiple users. The Pocket Caddy is designed to be used at a remote location. The tape is then dispatched to the office for transcription. A photograph of the Messenger is included.

Japanese Exports Expected to Increase

Japanese electronic manufacturers expect sales of electronic office equipment to rise by nearly nine per cent by the end of 1983. Two- thirds of this equipment is sold abroad. Sale of photocopiers, calculators, as well as videotape recorders will all increase.
