Against expectations

Article Abstract:

Under normal circumstances, stock prices fall on rise in interest rates. The reasons for such diverse movements are discussed. However, the investors have given the underlying theory a nudge and gone ahead with a rally on the Australian stock markets despite the recent hike in interest. The reasons for such departure from theory are analyzed.
