Alternate energy industry
Article Abstract:
Favorable international developments and the purchase of generating assets have been beneficial for MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co and AES Corp, the two independent power producers which comprise the alternate energy industry. These two companies have closed major deals in the US, the improved Brazilian economy has been good for AES, and MidAmerican is expected to receive $200 mil in political risk insurance. These stocks are timely for 1999, but AES Corp may be unsuitable for conservative investors due to developing market exposure.

A comparative analysis of the company sales and financial details of Northeast Utilities from 1988 to 2003 are illustrated. Projections of the annual total returns, revenues and the assets position of the company for the period 2007-09 are made using value line estimates.
