An analysis of decentralized collection and processing of end-of-life products

Article Abstract:

The quantity of end-of-life products and the demand for remanufactured parts are both price-sensitive. Models for the determination of optimal acquisition price and the selling price of remanufactured parts in centralized and decen tralized channels are presented. The waste management of original equipment manufacturers of durable goods is also analyzed.

Western European local officials are imposing time-access regulations to improve sustainability issues, but these influence the logistic s and consequential financial and environmental performance of retailers . The impacts of different time-window pressures are analyzed based on a multiple case study of Dutch companies in various sectors .
