Australia's place in Ford's world

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Co. president Jac Nasser hinted that Ford Motor Company of Australia Ltd. may become more involved in exporting vehicles and in the direct distribution of prestige brands. Nasser noted that Ford Australia ships only small numbers of right-hand and left-hand drive exports, in no way a threat to a market dominated by Toyota Motor Corp. and Holden. Nasser also noted that he would like to examine Ford Australia's role in long-wheelbase cars and other premium vehicles, including the direct distribution of the Jaguar S-Type.
