Automobile parts (replacement) industry

Article Abstract:

The automobile parts industry should function moderately well in 1997 with support from a benign economy, restructuring and consolidation of almost all companies, and a growing number of older vehicles that are still being used. Timeliness ranking for the industry dropped slightly from the December, 1996 above average rating, largelt because of two companies' performance. A variety of investment possibilities are available for all types of investors.

Auto parts (replacement) industry

Article Abstract:

New repair channels, a higher supply of aftermarket parts, and lower demand for replacement parts are some of the negative trends that have affected the replacement auto parts industry in the 1990s. The industry has consolidated, especially among distributors, in response to sagging sales and inventories which are plaguing the industry as a result. Investors need to be cautious with these stocks and consider only the most timely issues.

Auto parts (replacement) industry

Article Abstract:

The aftermarket auto parts industry is weak in 1997 when compared with the strength of 1996. A mild winter has decreased the demand for new auto parts with company earnings and stock prices not expected to do well. The aftermarket auto parts industry is in the bottom third of the Value Line investment survey. The industry is cyclical in nature but there are some good stock selections available for the discriminating investor.
