BHP faces more woes at its WA iron project

Article Abstract:

Broken Hill Proprietary Co Ltd is building in Port Hedlund, Western Australia, a plant to produce hot briquetted iron (HBI). The price of HBI has dropped as demand fell because of the Asian economic crisis. However, An Feng Kingstream expects continued demand for the slab steel it will produce at its $1.4-billion plant under construction in WA. Article Abstract:

The Bronzewing South mineral claim in Western Australia is getting closer to fruition thanks to aerial mapping. Junior Golds get a leg-up from Big Brother

Article Abstract:

Two small mining companies, Gindalbie Gold NL and Croesus Mining NL, have discovered promising gold and copper resources in the Magnum prospect of Western Australia. The location was previously explored by BHP before a management crisis led to an partnership invitation for Gindalbie. Low stock prices and commodity prices are among factors blamed for lack of enthusiasm for Western Australia's mining resources.
