Beverage (alcoholic) industry

Article Abstract:

Price hikes in early 1999 have made the market brighter for the brewing segment of the alcoholic beverages industry compared to 1998, and long-term prospects for distillers are also good even though there is a demand decline in many European and the US markets. The emerging overseas market are also becoming more important to distillers and the industry is also continuing to consolidate. There is long-term potential for the stocks in the alcoholic beverages industry although they are expected to only mirror the market in 1999 and the year 2000.

Beverage (alcoholic) industry

Article Abstract:

Recent price increases for beer in 1999 are expected to benefit domestic brewers in the US along with expected volume increases compared to 1998. Consumption for distillers remains flat, but future earnings can be forecast in foreign markets, and wine makers are expected to have revenue gains in the future, as well. This industry is forecast to underperform the market in 1999 and the year 2000, but some stocks have good price appreciation potential for the next three to five years.
