Big-byte options for storage

Article Abstract:

New removable storage options hold much more data than traditional floppy disks. Iomega's Zip drive's hold 100MB of data, which is equivalent to 70 1.44MB floppy disks. There are several competing Zip drives in this market, but Iomega leads the sector despite complaints over its customer service and product reliability. Other alternatives are basically alternatives to standard hard drives, but with removable disks made of coated aluminum or glass. Products in this category include Syquest's EZ Flyer and Sparq drives as well as Avatar's Shark drive. All removable storage devices store more data than floppy disks and are typically more reliable, but storing huge amounts of data in small spaces makes them vulnerable to dust and damage. Iomega plans to release a new Clik! storage product for portable devices in late 1998.

Business simulations are not just for finance

Article Abstract:

Computer-assisted business simulation is described. The simulation was aimed at showing the connection between the management of people and financial results. It covered morale, job satisfaction, and productivity, as opposed to quality and asset management. All those who took part had to play a role, with similarities to their role within their own company, as an employee of an imaginary company, and all reported positive results from the exercise.
