Bosnian Serbs surround second Moslem safe area; fighting spreads

Article Abstract:

Serb forces attacked the former UN 'safe havens' of Zepa and Bihac from Jul 18-20, 1995, and Zepa is reportedly close to surrendering. Thousands of Muslim refugees from Srebrenica have been forced to relocate to Tuzla. The UN and Western nations continue to debate what course of action to take.

Bosnian Serbs free most U.N. hostages; rescued U.S. pilot given hero's welcome by Clinton

Article Abstract:

Most of the UN peacekeepers held hostage by Serb forces were released on Jun 13, 1995, after negotiations between UN leader Bernard Janvier and Serb Gen Ratko Mladic. The US celebrated the rescue of NATO pilot O'Grady, whose plane was shot down over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Bosnian Serbs again reject peace plan despite U.S. military threat

Article Abstract:

The Bosnian Serb parliament voted May 6, 1993 to reject a United Nations peace plan backed by Pres Slobodan Milosevic. The US has been pressing Europe and Russia to join a military coalition against the Serbs if they do not sign the peace agreement.
