Bozell Gets Certified

Article Abstract:

Bozell Worldwide's office in Southfield, MI has earned its ISO 9001 certification, a standard for business management and quality of services. Chrysler Corp., Bozell's biggest account, suggested that it acquire the certification. Bozell did not initially comply with ISO 9001 standards because its creative processes differed from those used by manufacturing companies. The standard was developed by Switzerland's International Organization for Standardization.

Lost in cyberspace: Ogilvy & Mather Interactive tries to regroup

Ogilvy and Mather Interactive (OMI), once the leader in the on-line advertising field, is struggling to regain its competitiveness. Troubled since the departure of group founder Martin Niesenholz in 1994, OMI already has laid off 15 of 40 employees. Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide, the agency's corporate parent, is committed to restaffing OMI and has committed $10 million to creating a new media company.

A cooperative venture

Chrysler Corp. vice president of marketing John MacDonald wants Chrysler and its roster of advertising agencies to work more closely together, in the hopes of facilitating brand equity goals through a cooperative relationship. Chrysler's agencies include BBDO, which handles the automaker's Dodge accounts and Bozell, which handles the Chrysler/Plymouth, Jeep/Eagle and corporate accounts.
