Burnett Capitalizes

Article Abstract:

TFA/Leo Burnett Technology Group, a Chicago-based advertising agency with numerous major clients nationwide, is moving its Southwest headquarters from Dallas to Austin in order to locate near the 'epicenter' of the state's burgeoning high-tech industry. Austin boasts numerous start-ups, Internet businesses, venture-capital firms and computer companies, while Dallas is dominated by telecommunications. The agency will keep its Dallas branch open as a service site to the Austin location. TFA/Leo Burnett plans to emphasize its technology savvy as an advantage over general market agencies while touting its network's national and global reach. Key clients it will serve from the Austin location include Motorola and DSL-modem maker Efficient Networks.

DESTINED FOR GRAPENESS

Article Abstract:

Houstion design agency Pennebaker LMC faced unusual legal problems after accepting 300 bottles of 1996 private-label wine from a client who had hired it to design wine labels. Federal alcohol regulations led to endless hassles with shipping and disbursement, and a gauntlet ensued when agency president Ward Pennebaker challenged staffers to conceive labels for the shop itself because each had to be approved according to state and federal wine labeling laws. Some of the labels the agency ended up using were El NiNo ViNo and A Time To Toast. The wine is given only to clients and friends.
