Article Abstract:

Australia is just starting to engage in discussions about electronic commerce and its ultimate affect on the country's economy. The Federal Government organized a summit to discuss the issue. Those who came to the summit included important members of government and the information technology industry. Those who attended said that the summit was a good first step that needs to be followed up by action.
