Verizon sees net skid 46%, cuts forecast

Article Abstract:

Verizon Communications has reported net income and revenue figures for the quarter ending Sep. 30, 2001. Revenue was up to $17 billion compared to last year's $16.53 billion and income dropped to $1.9 billion down from last year's $3.5 billion. CFO Fred Salerno expects the company will reach a low point in mid-2002 because of the US economic slowdown but hopes a recovery will begin in late 2002.

AT&T net surged 58% in 4th quarter; talks with Time Warner, others in cable industry are behind schedule

AT&T Corp. has reported phenomenal 4th quarter earnings, a 58% increase in profits and sales. It seems that they are jumping ahead of the rest of the telecommunication service companies who are desperately lagging behind.
