CPI surges by 0.4% in April

Article Abstract:

The Labor Dept reported that the CPI increased 0.4% in Apr 1993. Stock prices rose and yields on 30-year bonds fell after the Federal Reserve decided not to increase the federal funds rate. Reports on retail sales, industrial production, industrial capacity and inventories are provided.

CPI increases by 0.4% in October

Article Abstract:

The consumer price index increased by 0.4% in Oct 1992. The increase followed a 0.2% rise in Sep 1992. The October increase was the sharpest since Mar 1992, and considered by many analysts to be an aberration.

CPI edges up by 0.1% in March

Article Abstract:

The CPI increased a modest 0.1% in Mar 1993, following a 0.3% rise in February. The 'core' inflation rate, which does not include food or energy prices, also rose 0.1% in March.
