Clinton nominates Greenspan to third term as Fed chairman; Rivlin tapped for number-two post

Pres Clinton asked Alan Greenspan to remain as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board and nominated Alice M. Rivlin and Laurence H. Meyer to fill two vacancies on the board of governors. The Senate is likely to confirm the nominations, as all the nominees have conservative economic philosophies.

Clinton convenes timber summit

Pres Clinton Apr 2, 1993, met in Portland, OR, with timber industry officials, environmentalists and other interested parties to discuss the problems arising from the suspension of logging on federal lands to protect northern spotted owl habitat. Clinton promised to seek a balanced solution.

Clinton visits Washington, D.C
