Mann Judd lifts Stockford into the second tier

In December 2000, Australian consolidator Stockford acquired the Melbourne office of HLB Mann Judd for $AS24.4 million, leaving other second-tier companies wondering whether they would be next. Mann Judd is the first second-tier office to be bought out by an Australian consolidator.

Mann Judd seeks to regroup

Article Abstract:

Now that the Melbourne office of HLB Mann Judd has been acquired by Stockford, the national chairman of Mann Judd and managing partner of the Sydney office, John Biddle, hopes to continue an association with his former affiliate in Melbourne. Stockford usually likes to rename its acquisitions, but is flexible when an existing name has value.
