Baycorp Advantage, Collection House and the unlisted D&B are the three biggest debt collection companies. According to Catherine Wolthuizen, the finance policy officer, credit providers need to be more mindful of the way that debt is pursued and it is important for credit providers to improve the quality of the information that they give to their debt-collection agencies.

Business and legal practitioners have severely criticized the Trade Practices Act, which places certain restrictions on mergers. The Trade Practices Act should be appealed in the Federal Court for adjudication.
