Dentsu considers a stake in Leo Burnett

Article Abstract:

The number one ad agency in Japan and fourth in the world, Dentsu, is said to be in talks with Chicago-based Leo Burnett. If the two come to an agreement whereby Dentsu would get a minority stake, its presence in the U.S. and Europe would likely be enhanced. The Leo Burnett agency is privately held and wants to remain that way, thus its spate of acquisitions in order to spur growth and assets sales for cash. Burnett was in talks with MacManus Group that collapsed; Dentsu is in a joint venture with Young & Rubicam.
