Among the multi-millionaires no longer on the list due to their deaths are Jack Liberman, whose fortune totalled A$500 million; John Saunders, who left a fortune totalling A$270 million; and Shirley Nicholas, who left a fortune totalling A$180 million. Others who dropped of the list due to fortunes falling below the 1998 threshold include Neil Balnaves; the Bond family; and Bob Bryan.

The allegations have highlighted the risks involved in linking a marketing strategy to sports people. The lengthy police investigation and continuing scandal have turned the players into sponsorship poison and have dragged the image of rugby league.
