Determining priority

Article Abstract:

Decisions as to which to prioritize between two contending projects should be based on the cash flow. Interval payoff should also be considered in which the project with bigger payoff during interval should be prioritized. In cases where both projects are performed simultaneously to the extent of eliminating idle time, the tendency is that none will be completed on schedule. To avoid this, efforts should be used on the critical path and focus on hitting the completion schedule should be sustained.

Decision-making over the project life cycle: an analytical hierarchy approach

Article Abstract:

A powerful research-based, multicriteria decision-making technique called Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is developed to guide managers in making decisions concerning project life cycles. The AHP method uses the Export Choice software in making paired comparisons of hierarchical structured goals, criteria and alternatives. Through AHP, managers can make effective decisions even when faced with a highly-complex environment that requires flexibility and subjectivity.
