Doner soon may be up for grabs in industry consolidation wave

Article Abstract:

The Detroit-based agency Doner looks to be a prime acquisition target. Despite billings expected to hit $1.2 billion in 1999, the agency just lost its prized banking account, PNC Bank, to Snyder Communications' Arnold Advertising. Doner's chairman, Alan Kalter, confirms the agency has been approached by several large advertising industry holding companies. People close to the situation say that one potential suitor is the WWP Group, the parent of Ogilvy & Mather and J. Walter Thompson.
