Article Abstract:

Collaborations on research is expected to increase and to create an essential component in the research and development strategies of pharmaceutical firms. Such expectation is based on the fact that pharmaceutical firms, regardless of their conditions, still need assistance in mastering new scientific breakthroughs. Also, there is a need for pharmaceutical firms to create a vast network of research relationships with independent laboratories and universities to take advantage of abrupt innovations coming from different technological fields.
