Dynamics of the strategic group membership-performance linkage in rapidly changing environments

Article Abstract:

The performance consequences of strategic group membership in a specific setting is examined to find out whether the performance differences exist among strategic groups and whether these differences are stable over a period of time in a population of firms that have undergone continuous and radical environmental transformations. The Industrial Organization Theory (IOT), the Resource-Based View of the Firm (RBVF) and MCLUST are used to analyze the performance consequences of strategic group membership over time.
