Precision instrument industry

Article Abstract:

Sales and earnings are rising in the precision instrument industry and this is expected to continue through 1996. High consumer confidence and economic expansion will lead to more consumer purchasing. Demand for instruments due to industrial needs will be greater in Asia and Europe. Defense-related demand in the US is weak, however. These stocks have outperformed the market for the last three years and growth potential remains high.

Article Abstract:

The major electric utilities in the eastern US are reviewed. Rhode Island is the first US state to allow retail access for all its electric customers. Electric utilities with low rates will be able to weather the changes that are prevalent in the industry during 1996. This industry is not a good investment at this time.
