Emerging business education programmes in China

Article Abstract:

Many western concerns are now establishing a presence in China, but they still lack managers who have knowledge of the competitive western market and who can also operate effectively within China's political, cultural and economic structures. This has prompted the Chinese government, businesses and higher education establishments to look at how management training can be improved. There has been a shift towards western-style business programmes covering management, marketing, accounting and finance over the last few years, and many Chinese managers have gone to the US for training.

Labor relations in China

Article Abstract:

Interviews and research on Chinese labor relations have yielded some insights into Chinese working conditions and and management techniques. State owned and managed industrial enterprises were the focus of the surveys. Such issues as mobility problems, job training and employee motivation were examined.

Has China Dropped the Pilot?

Article Abstract:

Communism has never really taken hold in China. The entrepreneurial spirit still flourishes. The profit-making motive is still alive and thriving. Numerous examples support this contention. The government has instituted incentives among the workers to increase productivity.
