Article Abstract:

Hotels in the US have done well since the mid-1990s, but the industry is changing several if its methods of brand management and accounting techniques in order to create value for itself and local investors. The gambling industry is consolidating and concentrating on established markets, but the creation of new jurisdictions for legalized gambling has caused a slowdown for many casinos. These stocks are not timely for 1999 and suitable mainly for conservative investors, but there are several bargains in the gambling sector of the industry

Article Abstract:

The entertainment industry is comprised of several large companies and has become a major segment of the US economy, although synergy rather than size has become the crucial economic factor for success in the industry. Radio and television broadcasting have proven themselves to be resilient, even though there is a threat to the business from technological advances. These stocks are ranked in the middle and are likely to do well, but several are risky due to low dividends and other factors.
