Equipment at Work: Smooth Flow of Computer Deliveries

Article Abstract:

The John G. stephenson Group (JGS) offers not only freight forwarding services to its customers but also warehouse storage and equipment testing facilities. JGS provides custom clearance agents who can have customs documents prepared ahead of entry through the FACS (Facilitated Air Clearance Services) system. JGS has computerized its freight and storage service and works with its customers to provide data and reports compatible with the customers' record keeping.

Computer Helps Accountants Service Small Business

Article Abstract:

An Australian accounting firm has changed their computer system to match their growing business. The computer system first installed in 1973 could not keep up with the firm's business, and the firm purchased a floppy disk and accounting software suppled by Anpac. Anpac conducts extensive training sessions. Turnaround increased by over fifty per cent and the system does the work of five bookkeepers.

Technology can not be separated from the human mind. Computers should extend human intelligence and incorporate psychology and other social sciences. Pattern recognition, binary tree search strategies, and heuristic problem solving are examples of what is called 'computer aided intelligence.'
