FCC seeks to block steps to shut down a high-speed Internet access network

Article Abstract:

The Federal Communications Commission desires to block Rhythms Netconnections Inc. from shutting down its high-speed Internet access in hopes of preventing customers from being without DSL access. The failing 'dot-com' industry has forced many DSL providers to file for bankrutcy and leaving many consumers without Internet services.

L'Oreal leaps into final frontier: getting men to color their hair

It seems that L'Oreal is trying to attract the attention of men by advertising hair color for men. They hope to break into the men's market by the use of men's photos on the boxes and in the ads.

Kosher-food marketers get gentiles to dig in

Article Abstract:

Forecasts for kosher foods show a 19% increase over 1998 sales. This translates to sales worth $50 billion for 1999. Kosher food marketers are looking beyond Jewish customers to Muslim, vegetarians, and lactose-intolerant consumers. Empire Kosher reports that of $120 mil sales last year, 25% were to Jews.
